On Thursday, February 24, 2022 - The Russian army began an offensive on Ukraine, starting their advance from the east of the country where Ukrainian armed forces have been fighting Russian-backed separatists since 2014.

 

Just a week before the war on Ukraine began, journalist Natalie Carney spent two weeks travelling between cities, towns and villages in east Ukraine to understand how the last eight years of war have affected livelihoods.
