Ukraine has been facing Russian aggression for well over a decade. The direct war on the country is approaching its fifth year. Hundreds of thousands have been killed on both sides while close to seven million Ukrainians have fled the country.
Natalie has been covering events across Ukraine since 2012; from the Maidan Revolution, to the Russian annexation of Crimea, to the election of current President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, up to the incursion of Russian troops into the east on February 24, 2022.

On 6 February 2023, a series of earthquakes shocked southern Türkiye and northern Syria. More than 55,000 people were killed and millions left homeless.
It was the worst earthquakes the region has seen in over 20 years and emotional scars run deep as many fear it could take years to overcome the immense physical and emotional damage.
Natalie Carney reported from the devastation from the southern region of Hatay/Antakiya.

Yemen Civil War
The refugee crisis of 2015–2016 saw over a million people, mainly from Syria, Afghanistan, and Iraq, flee war, persecution, and instability and seek safety in Europe.
Many traveled dangerous routes across the Mediterranean Sea or through the Balkans, risking their lives to escape conflict. The sudden arrival of large numbers of refugees strained asylum systems and sparked intense political debates within the European Union.
Natalie Carney followed their journey in a number of harrowing reports.

In 2015, Afghanistan faced escalating conflict as Taliban attacks increased against security forces and civilians.
With NATO shifting from combat to non-combat operations, Afghan forces struggled to maintain security, leading to rising civilian casualties and widespread displacement.
