IsDB + World Cup: Football for Development

During the 2022 Qatar World Cup, Natalie Carney was hired by the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) to produce a video highlighting their efforts with FIFA and the WHO to harness football as a force for development, peace and social cohesion, including investment in football infrastructure across Africa.

Niger's 1st Public National Cancer Centre

Niger’s first public National Cancer Centre, established with support from the Islamic Development Bank, the Government of Niger and the IAEA, provides the country’s first radiotherapy services.

 

The video highlights how the centre is expanding local access to cancer treatment and reducing costly medical evacuations abroad.

Sub-Saharan Africa's 1st Express Train

Natalie Carney produced a video showcasing Senegal’s Regional Express Train (TER), developed with financial support from the Islamic Development Bank.

 

The electric rail system has significantly reduced travel times, eased pressure on roads and improved access to communities previously reliant on slow trains and buses, while supporting the region’s economic development.

The IsDB Improving Agricultural Practices in Wast Africa

The Islamic Development Bank is supporting efforts to boost agricultural productivity across Sub-Saharan Africa.

It has financed a US$39.7 million initiative to increase staple food production by expanding rain-fed and irrigated farming systems, helping small-scale farmers become more resilient to climate shocks.

IsDB Helps Transform Main Istanbul Hospital 

This video produced by Natalie Carney  showcases Istanbul’s earthquake-resistant Okmeydani Hospital, supported by nearly €159 million in funding from the Islamic Development Bank Group.
